Our Imaging Services

We offer the most advanced technology in MRI and PET scanning by combining MRI and PET technology — one of only 30 such devices in the country.

Conveniently located on the Main Line, our unique scanner is available to anyone with a prescription for an MRI scan or pre-authorized referral for a PET scan. We also offer opportunities for this imaging through our unique clinical trials and customized programs.

Orthopedic Imaging

For patients with orthopedic or sports-related injuries, advanced MRI is available for all muscles, tendons, ligaments and bones.

Advanced MRI is available for all joints, including shoulders, elbows, hips, knees and ankles for those patients with inflammatory joint diseases, injuries and infections.

For patients with neck and back pain or problems, advanced MRI imaging is available for evaluation of the spine.

Cancer Detection

Total body MRI for those with a family history of cancer, high-risk factors, and/or concerns about cancer. This would be non-contrast and no radiation.

Total body PET-MRI for those with a family history of cancer, high-risk factors, and/or concerns about cancer. This would be non-contrast but would have the radiation from the PET. It would be more comprehensive and would evaluate areas of inflammation as well.

Brain Imaging

FDG PET (with MRI co-registration) of Brain for those who have a family history of neuro-cognitive disorders or concerns about future cognitive decline.

Comprehensive PET and MRI of Brain for those who have a family history of neuro-cognitive disorders and clinical evidence of cognitive decline.

Amyloid PET (with MRI co-registration) of the Brain for those specifically concerned about Alzheimer’s disease.

Full body MRI

MRI

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is used to provide exceptional images of the brain and other organs, as well as joints and soft tissues. MRI scans can be performed to assess a number of different conditions including cancer, infection, inflammation, and musculoskeletal problems.

The MRI at Jefferson Imaging at Villanova is a powerful, highly-advanced scanner that can perform all types of standard MRI scans in a patient-friendly environment. Jefferson Imaging accepts major insurances and offers expedited appointments.

PET

PET Imaging

Positron Emission Tomography (PET) is used to visualize functional physiology. PET imaging is frequently used to evaluate organ activity and assess/detect malignancies.

PET imaging can help find cancers, detect small tumors, discover unknown metastatic cancer, and evaluate response to therapy. Brain PET scans can be used to evaluate patients with head injury, cognitive impairment, seizures, and other neurological and psychiatric conditions.
